just wanted to say hello to you all have been lurking for a while, decided to come aboard, thank you all for the useful info. just cut up a 16' x 4' (4' across) steel tank inside a building, old 3/8 plate overlaped at the joints with rivets and 1/2 on the ends fun stuff, rented a plasma cutter, had a generator but the 6000 watts were'nt enough had to rent a 12000 watt,
had air compresor. Dewalt gas powered, that was giving me trouble so I had to rent one of those all in all 300.00 in rental I'm hoping for at least 3000 lbs to cover the rentals. Doing some other work as well so my labor is covered.

Welcome to the forum. That tank must of been some kind of old to have riveted connections.

    thanks, for the welcome
I think it was put in early 20's, they set the tank and built the building around it only about a foot at most to the wall on three sides so I didn't want to risk it with a torch. did ok 2.85 for prepared #1 made 370.00 there was also a bonus electric motor that weighs at least 75 lbs and a few rolls of wire
