We auction off surplus equipment, but we do better just selling the scrap metal.

I'd rather not say what government agency. As far as types of scrap; steel, brass, copper, lead acid batteries, aluminium, car bodies, catalytic converters, radiators, etc.
Do your scrap sales go back into the operating budget?

That's above my pay grade, skylinejack. I figure that getting the best possible price for the metal we sell is serving the taxpayers.... of which I am one.

Although your answers seem somewhat evasive it looks as if you've been raked over the coals pretty good here. So, WELCOME ABOARD!! Sit back, relax, and read, read, read. Only then should you start asking questions. On second thought, seeing as how you answered all those questions above without blowing your cool I'd say you've earned the right to ask 2 dumb questions. (A feat never before achieved) lol So go ahead, hit us with your best shot.
