Hello to you all . My name is Dave and i live in southeast pennslyvania . I'm married and have children and grandchildren . I work in precision sheet metal for a living . I'm a bit of jack of all trades . Metal scrapping since childhood with my older brother , just one of many ways we earned spending money. We always collected anything to do with metal . However I dropped out of scrapping years ago when the price's didn't even pay the gas to take it to the crusher .The past couple years i started again .This past year the wife and i grossed $1,000. on a part time basis . What i need to learn more about is the different grades to maximize my profits . This looks like a great place to start . Thank you and happy hunting .

Welcome to the forum Dave. There's lots to learn here even for a more experienced scrapper. As an example you may learn about scraping electronics which you might not know about now. So I suggest you do what I did, read as many of the old threads as you can.

We have a buyers & sellers section where some of our members list the prices they pay for different items. We have a member who is in Pa. who is in the insulated wire scrapping business. He buys insulated wire. All I am saying is there is a lot of free info and you will be happy you took the time to read it. Best of luck, Mike.

ps one of my favorite threads.
