Hey where are all the west coast scrappers at?

Hey my fellow scrappers! My name is sj and I too am a fellow scrapper from San Jose California. So I've been lurking on this forum for about 6 months Trying to sponge up all the info, I can get off here. To be honest I really think this is a great place to be for all the newbies because there is so much useful help that others are willing to share on here. Knowledge is power!! Anyways Ive noticed on here that there isn't to many people on the west coast that either buy ewaste or sale it. Looks like this is a business bigger in the midwest west and east coast. Well hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can set up a site dedicated to online purchases of waste very similar to boardsort and easyrecycle. These two entrepenuer's are really doing it right and honest. Much respect for you two. I look forward to contributing to this forum and hearing back from you guys! Happy scrapping all!!

Welcome SJ. It's great if you don't have much competition. I wish you much success.

Most scrappers fall into the category of computer illiterate as far as most ive met. The smart ones find places like this and work together and prosper.

I'm about 3 1/2-4 hours north east of you, but not a computer scrapper. I'm into junk cars and car parts. I noticed the same thing though, not a lot of west side peeps on here.

Well, I don't know if I exactly qualify to your question, as I live in Canada, but..... I live in the thompson-okanagan region in British Columbia, Canada....I mainly do ferous and non-ferous metals, but once in a while I do electronics... I just have to sit on my boards longer until I have enough to sell

I would say there is a fair amount of scrappers in BC.... I am in Kamloops, British Columbia... has about 80,000 people and if you include rural areas and anywhere within 45 mins, you can up that number too 100,000+ .... the scrap yard go to has been open since the 60's and there is another one in town that has been open about the same time.....a 3rd one opened up a few years ago.

The mail one I go to has all kinds of people going to it... businesses, demolitions, govt contracts, plus guys like me who do it as a hobby and to supliment income... there is even people who ride in on bikes or push in shopping carts.

I can't give you a deffinite number, but everyone and their dog is doing it here... I don't even need to ask what the price of copper is... I just have to watch the news and when copper theft goes up in the Vancouver area (3.5 hrs south/west of me), I know it's time to take my copper in.
