Hi Laura,
Congrats on your new hobby (or other). Take a day out and search all the scrap dealers in your area. You may find that one of them sells to the other. You want to find the one that pays most. Go to their facility, ask for help as to what are the protocals for scaling in, scaling out, getting paid etc. Learn the system. Then go crazy!

If they're in decent shape, try selling them on Craig List. I sell them for $100 each.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Thank's to both of you. they are in very good shape, they are new and sell for around $2000. but my husband is no longer here and I wanted to get rid of them. I guess I will try Craig's list. $100. is better than nothing.

if you have 10 and they are new first try the biggist builders,biggist plumbers then the box stores. I would ask $500 ea. you can always lower the price

If they are brand new you may try contacting local auction houses. With that high of a retail value you may get quite a bit if an auction house sells them, and they may even pick them up from your place, do all the advertising, etc.

And just for a baseline if they are 250 lbs each, which is a guesstimate, you are only looking at about $25 each in scrap value.

If the tubs are worth $2000.00 new and in such condition you should be able to get a much better percentage then that.
I would start at $900.00 each to spark interest. When people try to sell things of value to cheap the buyers look at it as the item is of lesser value right off the bat.

Cast Iron is always a bit more then steel price. Yes, a scrap yard will take them. You can easily look in the yellow pages for a local yard, or try an online directory such as http://1800recycling.com/

As far as I am aware they have no affiliate program, but that would be a nice idea.
But, no, just a useful site I have found is all. He asked for a possible place near him, so I suggested yellow pages and that site is all.
