Scrap Metal Forum newcomers - Please Read!

If this is your first time visiting the forum as a registered member, please take the time to read this thread thoroughly.

First of all, thanks for joining this knowledgeable scrap metal network and community. There's alot to learn here, and even more to be shared. In order to make your membership here as beneficial and worthwhile as possible please read on.

1 - If you've just registered, please make your FIRST POST an introduction in the Introduce Yourself section of the forum. Although it's not required it's appreciated by the majority of the active members here.

Just provide a quick summary of yourself and your place in the scrap metal industry. Such as your name, what kind of scrapping/recycling you do, how you got started and where you're from, things of that nature. Just so other members have a general understanding of who you are and what you may have to offer the community here. There's a big 'family' here and taking the time introducing yourself is appreciated.

There are all types of active members here to network with ranging from complete newbies, big recycling business owners, scrap yard owners, part timers, full timers and even electronics recycling gurus.

2 - A good place to start if you're new to not just the forum but scrapping and the metal recycling business in general, the Metal Recycling Basics section would be a good first stop.

3 - If you have any common questions, take a second to SEARCH the forum (via the search box at the top right) to look for a quick answer. If you can't find a good answer and/or you'd like to contribute your own opinions/experiences regarding the topic please feel free to reply and start threads.

There are tens of thousands of posts here for you to learn from and contribute to.

4 - Make sure you start your threads in the appropriate forums, we have several sections here which cover most of the topics you may wish to discuss ranging from scrap metal spots, business, electronics recycling, scrap metal prices and more. We've also got an 'off topic' section for you to utilize.

5 - NO BASHING. Stay positive. Rude/insulting remarks directed towards other members will be removed and might lead to a ban or loss of privileges from the forum. So if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. We've got a helpful and knowledgeable scrap metal community here, try and maintain a positive presence and enjoy your stay.

6 - Enjoy your time here, learn, read, ask questions, add value, share your knowledge, experiences, join the discussion and network with some of the greatest minds in the industry.

If you've got a question, someone has an answer, if you've got value/knowledge to share, many will appreciate it.

7 - Forum support is located at http://www.ScrapMetalForum.com/support and can also be accessed via the 'support' link located at the top of the site.
