    Hi Thero,

Welcome to the forum. The board is not as active as it once was but there's quite a bit of information in the archives. Youtube.com is another good information source with instructive videos. Try starting out with the search term " Asian Skills Media ". It's more pertinent to how the scrap industry works in your part of the world.

One thing one might take into account is that the wealthier industrialized nations produce a lot of waste. Some of it is processed and recycled in their respective countries but much of it is exported to other nations where labor costs are lower and environmental regulations are less strict. Places like India, Pakistan, and Turkey import quite a bit of scrap metal for recycling. They also tend to have air quality problems because metals recycling can be a dirty business.

Another thing to take into account is that copper isn't being used in construction and manufacturing as much as it used to be. It's being replaced by plastics in plumbing and aluminum windings in electrical motors. There might be more of a future in aluminum & steel if you're thinking about going into this line of work.

    I hope this is helpful.
