Chattanooga E-Waste Hobbyist Needs Local Scrapper

Haha that title is super cringe.

So I'm in Chattanooga and have recently started tearing down/fixing e-waste. Doing some PM recovery. Mostly I want to get into DIY electronic builds. I'm looking to connect with someone local who does metal scrapping that I can offload my steel scrap and maybe some copper/brass/aluminum stuff. Ideally, I'd like to develop a relationship with someone where they might save some of their e-waste for me and I'll break it down and keep the stuff I want and give them back the scrap metal. Kindof a trade scenario. I don't have the space to build up enough scrap metal to make it worth my time going to a scrapyard with it, but I don't want to throw it back in the dumpster either. If you're in the Chattanooga area and want to talk, hit me up.

from what i see, most ppl here are also collecting ewaste.
might be a better idea to speak to some of the scrap yards around you and offer to exchange whatever metal you get for whatever ewaste they get.
or speak to other scrappers in your area who dont know too much about ewaste & aren't interested in it.

human nature is such that once ppl come to know that theres decent money to be made in something, they want to take it/do it for themselves.

    just a thought.

Thank you, good tips. I reached out to a few on facebook marketplace. Tight lipped, understandably. I haven't really seen anyone on here in the Chattanooga area. mikeinreco is the closest it seems. There's a couple large e-waste companies here, but they get most of their stuff shipped to them by companies. The scrapyard idea is interesting, I had initially figured since my volume is so low, it probably wouldn't be worth their time.
