The sample baggie was mailed out Monday morning to a refinery in Ontario, should have the results in a week or so, I'm planning to post the assay results along with the weight in the jar.

I'm not sure if your old enough to remember the Hector Stewart yard under the Pattullo Bridge on the Surrey side, years ago me an a buddy brought in a tractor trailer loaded with cars.

The gal on the scale mistakenly paid us out on the wrong ticket, then many years later after moving to the lower mainland took a scrap car into their yard.

Imagine my surprise when Hector approached me then telling me they had made the mistake and tried to track me down to correct the error.

They had that ticket hanging on the scale house wall for at least five years, anyhow it turned out to be a pleasant surprise getting paid on my current load and that old ticket from the semi load.

I've been doing scrap most of my life, my first load went to Felix before old Joe and Erica took the business over and still held onto Scott Road Trading.

I've done business as far back as Charlie Davis, then Mel who gave the reins over to his son Gab whom I've spoken to over the phone but yet to met. Heard that Mel now deals strictly in batterys and refines the contents.

Freddie Berman took over from his grandfather, opened Clean Steel nice yard with river access, now after that yard closed he opened another in Victoria with access to water transport. Done business at both yards.

At the Clean Steel yard helped with barge moves a couple of times, the 3 inch nylon ropes unhooked from their warf heads, the current from the river slowly starts to move the barge down river on the word from the leader all ropes once again connected in unison.

Both awesome and scary at the same time watching that 3 inch nylon rope getting stretched down to half its size then when the barge lost its momentum the ropes finally came back to their full size.

The barge was being loaded with scrap cars for Tacoma.

Amix, Edgar Jackson a new comer who built an empire starting with a wheelbarrow on reservation land in Penticton.

Rudy met him when he was hauling stock, he transported a Leopard Appaloosa that I had purchased from a guy, the most beautiful horse I have ever seen. Then the next time I run into Rudy he's opened a yard on the Fraser highway, decent fellow all round to deal with.

We had a scrap yard in Hope B'C. we shipped hundreds of loads into Richmond Steel.

Marcel and Terry from Westcoast are in my Rolodex. I often mail them 66 pound box's of number 1 copper from Manitoba, even after postage I'm way ahead of what the yards are paying here.

I've always had good business relationships with the various yards, I have dealt with there are a few exceptions where feathers get ruffled.

I had dismantled a large Bucyrus-Erie that had a KT 450 Cummings for power, seems everyone knew about that engine and wanted to get their hands on it. Even the yard we were shipping to knew of its presence and was silently waiting its arrival.

With all the sudden interest you would have thought I was sitting on the Crown jewels, so I turned to my friend google and did some research.

    Found a buyer, $12,000.00 US.

Willie is still waiting for that KT to show at the yard, he haw. Some people are born poor losers.

Anyhow Sims finally bought the yard
