You have a skill that should have value. A different way to go perhaps?? My friend has been successful and makes a good living where he is located. What is doing? Driving a front load trash truck. Is it sexy work no but trash companies are always on the lookout for drivers. You must be dedicated to learning the trade, it is not easy and the hours suck, and you must understand how to best route yourself because the bosses don't. You may have to start in another job besides front load but that's where the money is. Also once you have a few years experience you will be able to go anywhere and get a job.

Anyway you go don't forget to sign up for the 401K and put in the max, you'll love yourself when you retire. 73, Mike

I’m staying in the scrap business I will eventually carve my own niche out like a lot of you guys I really look up too. Right now laid off for a month I just really wanted to use this time to maybe find work and maybe even learn a thing or too. The company I work for me and another guy started and I’m proud of what I’ve done so far. I like to cut up scrap I can honestly say that’s what I’m good at. About a month ago I took a trip to a shreader that we sell a lot of metal too and got a few pointer on thick stuff. I had just cut up maybe 40 tons of rail about a month ago. Scrap is what I’m build for It’s hard work but I love the cash, haggling, and can’t wait to run some equipment. I really want to learn how to run a shear.
