Just thought I'd sign up, have read threads here over the years.

I have read lots of threads on the forum here over the years, and thought I'd sign up. I do a bit of scrapping, shred steel, clean and dirty aluminum, electronics, wire, etc.

Never really needed to ask questions, as they are already answered to where I can decide for myself how I want to handle certain items I scrap; meaning what is worth the time to tear down / separate into different groups "for me". I still really have no questions, but may toss my 2 cents in occasionally on topics.

I grew up trash picking, would see old big speakers / stereo equipment as a kid and bring it home so I could shake the house apart (I've always been big into home / car audio), so I have always been aware of decent stuff can be picked up. I still do this as can find great items, amazing what people toss into the garbage, sad, but I'll take it... I also did a lot of electronics repair growing up (learned as I got a lot of non working gear that needed fixed), so would fix audio amplifiers / speakers and either use or sell them. Then I realized you could scrap appliances, lawn mowers, old worthless electronics, lots of other things, etc., so do that from time to time. The price per pound of shred steel doesn't seem like it would be worth the effort, but the weight adds up fast, so end up not doing to bad.

Anyway, nice forum, been a help to me over the years. Just randomly thought I'd sign up after reading through some threads, lol.
