    Hello everyone!

My story of getting into scrap metal is as follows. Last winter i went on a vacation. Half way through the vacation i got a call.. a swimming pool had been installed in my basement while i was gone, without my consent. I guess the furnace malfunction and a pipe broke. 6 feet of water has tends to reek havoc in a basement. I ended up thinking to myself what am i going to do with the old furnace, hot water heater, and breaker box. After finding out that silver was in my breaker box thats all it took. I was HOOKED. After smashing a bunch of breakers with a giant sledge hammer i was having a ball. Then i stared to look at my work and what we were putting in our shred hoppers. I started to notice items that had copper winding's in them things like motors, transformers and sometimes just copper pipe. Where i work we can buy anything in a scrap hopper for xx cents a pound. So after buying a few hundreds of pounds of "scrap iron" i got to thinking.. I wonder what we do with our scrap copper wire. Well this is the moment everything changed. Without going into to much detail i was able to buy over 1,500 pounds of THHN 0/4 wire at a very very good price. As soon as i had the wire i went out and purchased an automatic wire stripper. Over the last few months i have found a new passion in life. I absolutely love scrapping metal! Never would i have imagined this would be a hobby/job that i would enjoy doing. So that's my story of how i got into scrapping, and also how i ended up with over 1200 pounds of stripped bare bright copper wire
