Smile Just Here For The Computers

    Hi,

I own a computer repair business in Crestview Florida. I am looking to the scrappers in hopes that some of you can help me find a particular auto part. I am only interested in the on board ECM /ECU /PCU units of a car. I diagnose / repair / reprogram them and then put them back on the market. They are a lot work and don't bring in much money, but combine them with a few other part time jobs and you get a full time income.

This is how all of us make a living nowadays since our jobs were shipped overseas.

If any of you know of a supply line or any places I can get these units, please feel free to message me.

    Just Here For The Computers

welcome to the forum. is this your first post? you need a few posts to activate messaging.

also, you need a membership to post in the buying/selling area. the membership fee is almost nothing if you think uyou have a good device to offer.

there are quite a few people on here that scrap cars, and I think there was someone that bought car computers. maybe he could sell you some if the pricing compares to his current buyer
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.

Yep, like Matt said. If I were you I would buy a membership and then offer to buy here on the forum. I know I had one recently that I chucked because I didn't want to mess with whatever it is they are sealed in.

You could go at it from a different angle too.

A lot of mechanics aren't trained on how to diagnose all of the different sensors & solenoids that are managed by the ECU. They tend to blame it on the ECU when it's really something else. Next, they swap in an ECU from a similar vehicle thinking they're all the same. It gets confused. It doesn't work and they want to do a return.

It's simpler to stay with the ecu that the vehicle originally came with. That way you know it's the right thing for that particular application.

Maybe explore a testing and repair service with a quick turnaround time ? That way you wouldn't have to keep time & money tied up in stock that might/might not resell.
