I am a retired 60 year old guy in Mesa Arizona who got in to scrapping by accident. I picked up a water heater at a friend's saving them some money and sold it making some money. They told their friends and they told their friends and so on. I have a one ton dually truck and a big flat bed trailer with a 12,000 pound winch. If it has metal in it I will haul it. The largest thing I have hauled to date is a 3000 pound water tank I winched up on my trailer. Sad that scrap prices are currently so low. A year or so ago what paid a hundred was two hundred. I have found if you make friends with the ones buying your scrap they will pay you more for your scrap. Just be nice. It pays.

    Scrapping is pretty good here.

My full time job is spent installing telephone, computer and other network equipment. When the new equipment goes in the old comes out and most of the time the customer wants me to haul it off.

After 32 years in the business I have a lot of contacts that call when they need something hauled off.
