    Starting up

Hi there. I live in the Southeastern us and I'm looking at starting my own business scrapping metal and opening a recycling center. I'm new at all this and all criticism is welcomed. Thanks in advance!

Get experience, and do lots of research. Is there a need for a recycling center in your area, or is there already one established?

Not much money in metal now, but if you can start a business and make a few dollars now, you will be in good shape "if" and when prices rise. Good Luck! At least you are doing something.

That's a difficult post to reply to. There are so many factors that I don't know about. Your age, experience working for others, experience running your own business, how adept you are at working with various tools, your education, how well you get along with others... These are all factors in giving advice to your inquiry of opening up any business.

Lacking some or all this information, about the best thing I can suggest is to apply for an entry position at a yard near you. Because of the way things are going, it might be easier said than done. I've always thought that everyone should have experience working for others before they start their own business.
