15 year old new scrapper !

How's it going guys. I've been reading this forum for the past few days and finally decided to make an account. A little info about me : 15 , live in Louisiana , and I play drums . I'm new to scrapping. I became interested in scrapping when my cousin started doing it.

Welcome. You picked a great time to start. Metal prices suck, but if you can learn now then you'll be in great shape a few years from now when (hopefully) prices improve.

Welcome to SMF from the Dakota's. I wish I had started at your age because I would have eliminated most of the stress and the headaches in my career. Good luck to you.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

Greetings from Wyoming! I started doing E-Waste when I was still in High School. I had my LLC at age 16, and actually signed the school's work release form as both the student and the employer- that was a first for them.

The times are challenging for sure, but man, I loved those days. Read up as much as you can, and then read more. The more that you can maximize your incoming scrap, the better you'll do!

Welcome from CT ! My 2 cents ... read as much as you can on this forum- these guys know their stuff, then, as you learn, hopefully you will work smarter , not harder and make less mistakes.
In most cases that = more $$$
    Good Luck

greetings from florida. its great that you are starting young and found this forum. It is full of extremely great information. I started scrapping when I was 17 and in high school also, and now within not too many years I have grown from just an f-150 to f-350 all the way to having semi trucks to haul scrap. Remember to always be polite and professional in everything that you do, because you never know who you are talking to. I was talking to a guy in line to pay at a gas station and ended up getting a contract to scrap all the old shelving out of our local dollar tree, and while on that job got a job scrapping out the ragshop and that has led to working for Walmart, lowes, olive garden, and more. I started by going to plumbers, electricians, and a/c contractors and offering to clean up their shop and giving them money.

I specialize in mostly common metals and cardboard, but was thinking about e-waste and this forum taught me sooooo much about that area that I previously knew hardly anything about, and what I thought I did know, I learned was a little wrong lol. make sure to search and read, but then if you have questions, never be afraid to ask, there are tons of people that will help you.
