    intro; new to the biz

    on fixed income , need to supplement . so i started saving and collecting cans .had a car load . when i got to the scrap yard i was amazed by how many people were there scrapping , and what they were scrapping . this is a whole new world for me . but i have to stay small because i am physically limited . i hope to learn from you all the best way to do that . i have a nice work space and a good outdoor staging area i plan to fill . eager to learn . if i could just earn enough to pay my electric bill i will be happy .

    Good luck on your scrapping venture. Garage sales usually have a lot that might not be hard to move around (radios, fans, etc) that if you buy a whole batch of things you can turn a profit.

    Take some time and do some reading around on our forum and all your questions will be answered. The info is here already, you just have to take some time to absorb it. Good luck to you. You can be as big as you want if you just apply. Start with some cheap (homemade or bought) business cards and start handing them out to every one you meet and know and pretty soon the stuff will start rolling.

    welcome to the forum from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. I have to agree with mechanic on the reading. there are aways ways to keep it small but turn a profit. learn a little about ewaste and your area. you might be surprised at how quickly you could pay your power bill. happy reading and scrapping.

    Very good advice , I also put my card at my church and a couple of other ones , I have got so much stuff I had to do some break downs this summer where I usually wait to winter!
