welcome from iowa and I would wait until you get a good set up going first before buying but also get as much as you can now while people are just leaving it like fellow scrappers if you start good and hard right now you will pull ahead fast and while hvac experience you know a lot more what to get and sell

No matter what size of trailer you get, it will be too small. I would get the biggest trailer you can based on your comfort level towing it, the type of traffic you will be dealing with, and storage space. My first trailer was a Sears collapsible, made one out of a pick up bed, next built one out of a two horse trailer, then one out of a stock trailer, and now even have two gooseneck flatbeds. I wish I would have started with the stock trailer and larger flat bed and saved a lot of time and expense. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum. I suggest you take your time and explore what is in the forum, seriously a Masters degree in scrapping/recycling/repurposing/reselling. Then get out and pick some metal and discover the direction you will take.

I assure you many members of this forum have changed the direction of their business after spending time studying the free material here. Mike

Got to tell you a story, just got back from scrapping. found a airtight fireplace and had to run back home to get a couple of 2x6 to slide it up in to my truck, crazy heavy but I got it after ripping my shin open a little..the funny part is I'm also digging through there garbage can after I see a 2 foot piece of copper pipe sticking out and im looking for more..felt kind of weird doing that with people watching..lol I'm sure that weird feeling will go away after I get my first check

Make up or buy some "business" cards and all your contacts and anyone you meet (friends also) should get one. like I've said before, you never know which one may be sitting on a "gold mine". Your contacts may talk to others and on and on. That's called networking, and it'll take a while to really cultivate a steady stream of misc. scrap. Don't turn your back on electronics as they have value also.
