    Hello from Alabama!

I have an antique booth, so I have a lot of junk. I had a box of non working clocks, so my daughter and I took them apart yesterday. After we finished, I googled "fun stuff to take apart" and ended up here.

My brand of scrapping is not quite the same as what's on this forum, but it's been fun to look at the threads and learn something new!

Welcome to the forum. Hope your not shorting yourself by scraping old clocks. Some can be worth big money to a collector.

Nope. I know what is and isn't worthless. We took out the movements and listed them on eBay as a steampunk lot!

Welcome to the forum from southern Minnesota. Nice to see more people that understand the "Steampunk" word and what it can do to attract buyers in an eBay listing. Have found out that selling the gears, springs and misc. things from 3-4 movement separately will sometimes be a whole lot more than selling them complete. Even though your think your brand of scrapping is different, there is a lot of things I've learned here about selling stuff in general. Some of my 10lb boxes of junk that I would get .09lb at the yard has netted me several times more than scrap price. It's sometime what you know, what you've learned and how you use it. lots & lots of intelligent people here that have already shared some of their knowledge in the threads. Good Luck, hope the clock movement sale makes you smile.

I am also a penturner and the "steampunk" craze is very popular in pen making right now. If you run across any thrashed watches it might be wroth the time to remove those little sprockets and gears and sell them as pen making material.
