Hi to all, just started scrapping

I started with aluminum cans, and pickup computers and light stuff. I have a place that will give me its old computers and printers every six months. and I like scrapping the alum, copper, etc. but I don't know what to do with the plastic. my recycle place won't take it. what to do? I don't want to give up this free scrap. Thanks

what I do is use a old miter saw and chop it up .then I put it in 55 gallon garbage bags and store them .when I get about 200 pounds I take them to the landfill and pay 10 dollars to dump them

Hello js1, welcome to SMF! I leave as much as possible attached to the scrap. Otherwise I have to store and dump it. Thankfully our annual spring cleanup came along a couple weeks ago, and I took a load there, including plastic, glass, and an old boat. They were taking anything but tires and batteries

Welcome to the forum js1. My opinion on the plastic is not to just throw it out. Even if you can't find a place to pay you for it I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find a local place that accepts plastic for recycling. You already have it broken down and I can understand wanting to get paid for it but if you don't have that option at least make sure it gets put to good use. Good luck scrapping.
