    Hi from Upstate New York

Hey guys I'm Chris. First heard about scrapping from a successful business guy/friend who owns a big warehouse and lots of land which I did random jobs for. He showed me some of the copper he'd been stripping from some thick looking cables. I got interested and saw a tv on the road a few weeks ago and decided to take it home. Tore it apart, got the copper/aluminum and since then I have collected a bunch more tvs, as well as wiring, computer monitors and a motor i took from a vacuum. I found this forum last week and have been soaking in all the information. This site is great, its loaded with everything I want to learn, the contributors seem very informed, I will continue to study up here and learn much about scrapping, hopefully contributing some of my own information as I move along. Thanks for providing such good info everyone.

P.S. I forgot to mention my best find yet is an HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier All-in-One Printer found sitting outside someone's house the night before garbage day. It had the power cable with it so I took it home and plugged the power in thinking maybe if it works then I could make more money than scrapping it away, anyways it booted up fine. Says one of the ink cartridges is empty and needs replacing so idk if it prints yet, but I tested the scanner and it works fine. Theres gotta be something wrong with it though I'm guessing for someone to throw away this machine.

Welcome aboard. Keep reading the old posts and take some notes as you go. Hopefully you can turn the printer over for a few bucks. Good luck.

Any more I'm finding that people will go and buy a new printer almost for the price of new ink cartridges.
