I work at an ace hardwear they charge 1 dollar a bulb and they will take the long ones
Well considering I just baught a 4 pack of the CFL bulbs for $2.38 it will cost more to recycle them then it does to buy them.
Look in your local county, the transfer station in my area takes them free of charge.
Check with your local land fill, some have a section for collecting items like that for free if you bring it to them.
