I'll second the anti-static bags if it's working.

I use alot of the USPS flat-rate boxes, and don't overlook the regional rate boxes, they can save you a few bucks depending on destination.

I have neighbors that do alot of online shopping and save me boxes and packing materials also.

I've been told I'm too lenient with payment. I give them 14 days...in over 10 years I've only had 4 non-payments, so I've stuck with it.

Very fragile items I double box, wrapping the item in bubble wrap, (filling it with peanuts if its a vase etc to prevent breakage from shock), putting it in a box and putting that box in a bigger one surrounded by peanuts. I've only lost one thing, and I've had one buyer email me pictures of a box that looked like the mail truck backed over it a few times. She was stunned when she opened it and nothing was broken.
