    Flagging on Craigslist

Hey scrappers I think this is the right place to put this but if is isn't please move it. Ok so here is my problem I am trying to post an add on craiglist saying that i am looking for scrap and what not but they keep on getting flagged and removed. I spent a hour reading all the fine print and i still cant figure it out? Has this happened to anyone? What am i doing wrong?
    Thanks
    Max

craigs list is the red neck version of E bay like Panama city is the red neck rivera, any jerk who cant or dosent want to compet or cant compet can flag you. craigs list is like a paper rout ya gotta do it every day. and by the way Im proud to be a red neck. Im just not a redneck jerk.

Yep as mentioned above, it's your competition. Flagging varies by locale but you need to do it from many different IP addresses before they delete. In other words, one user can't decimate your ad, but one user posing as 10 others, using different IP's can. Or if they have 10 friends that will help them out. Btw the number 10 is what it is in my CL, that number differs all over.

What category are you posting in?

In my area, if you post in the wanted section then you will get flagged, but if you post in the services offered/labor section you wont get flagged.

That's just the way it is, maxa. My ads have been flagged in every section I've put them in. I gave up on craigslist some time ago because of it.

thank everyone who flags your post...

After they flag it for you...you can re-post it! Just copy and past...and your ad is BACK ONTOP....you cant re-post the same ad over and over the same day UNLESS someone flagged it.

I get upset if someone did not flag my postings because it ends up on the 2ed page...I want mine ON the first page and ONTOP.

P.s I never flag anyone posts...I let there's get on the 2ed page and mine will stay on the front =D

Just another way of looking at it =D

a lot of time they get flagged because they are in the wrong section. were not selling appliances or vehicles or anything else it is a service that we offer.. legit places to post are -free -( removal clean up etc..) wanted ( scrap metal) serves offered etc. that is my opinion. don't kill me first time poster

Posting in "free" section of CL asking for scrapmetal, appliances, junk cars, etc. is NOT legit. and most definitely will get you flagged.

I guess when you're getting that much exposure for free what more can you expect? Craigslist gives you lots of free hits that you just can't get anywhere else even with the flagging its still worth the hassle because without Craigslist there would be no scrapping for me and that's the truth.

you could always try something different - for cars, search for terms like "parts only", "parting out" "parts car" etc and email or call every seller you find that you'll pickup the remains for free, or will buy the car outright. Hit up anyone selling old/cheap appliances and offer to haul off.

I'd bet a lot of folks are willing to dump stuff quick after trying to deal with some of the whack jobs I've met on CL...the no shows, the "can you hold it until I get my check?", the guy who asks a million questions then says no thanks, etc...

Also, are you over-posting? There's a lot of guys locally that post the same pieces for sale, with the same prices, day after day after day and everyone seems to get pretty upset about it. If you make yourself a nuisance, you'll get flagged.
