    Oil tanks

    Does anyone know what a 275 gal.home heating oil tank weighs?

    Approx 300 pounds, depending on the specific tank.
    People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

    I sell more oil tanks on Craigslist then I scrap. Try selling whole first. Even if they have a hole in it, people seam to buy them.

    I've been trying to sell two I have for over a year. Not even one call. For the scrap yard to take them, they need a hole big enough to stick your head in. Probably be cutting them up next spring.

    Advertise them as being useful for making large BBQ's and smokers. Or make a few yourself and sell them. Just cut them in half add hinges ,a handle and a vent.

    Just start a fire in the halves to burn out any remaining oil residue before cooking on it!
