Angry What I've been seeing during my rounds makes me sick

Yesterday my mom and I were out and passed one of those huge tv's that sit in the wood frame, it had to be at least 36 inches or more - I think they are the ones over 42 inches. When we went past it the first time it was upright, when we came back down the road it had been knocked over and the back busted out by some no good scrappers that have NO respect for themselves, the business or the homeowner. We were in absolute shock at the mess they had made, glass in the yard and street. I felt soooooo bad on top of the I was feeling. That wasn't the first one we saw but the others were smaller. I mean, take the **** tv with you and take what you want and throw the rest away at your curb. Have some respect for what we do out there, take pride in your job, have respect for the homeowner who has to clean that up because the garbage man isn't going to clean that up. I have also seen sinks - porcelain ones, that have been shattered at the roadside to get the knobs and pipes from them. THIS is what gives ALL of us a bad name. Deplorable, absolutely deplorable.

If I saw a scrapper actually doing something like that, I'd be screaming out the window shaming the crap out of him. He wouldn't want to see my car come around the corner again.

these are the people who will put all of us out of business not maybe, not some day, but absolutly and tomarrow. reach down in your big boy/girl pants and grab a hnd full, and do something about it, that is malishis mischief, littering, and a dozen other things, if we dont stop them and soon they will stop all of us.. they can call me what ever they want, but if they do it to my face they wont do it more then once.

here is how I handle punks- look a * ole dont f*** with me there are only 3 things that can happen, none of them good for you. 1. you kick my A** in which case you go to jail for assulting an old man and you look foolish. 2. I kick your butt and you go to the hospital and look really really foolish. 3 you assult me and I just kill you in self defence, now which of those is gonna be a win for you.

there are perks for gettin old.

Yeah I see it almost everytime I go to town. The big tv's are the worst. But I once saw a small tv that someones had to take a sledge to because the glass was ALL OVER the owners yard. It ticks me off as well!

I'd like to drop a 36" screen from 10 feet right on the scum bags head.

My parents live in an apartment complex, and when people move out or clean they throw their furniture/tvs/etc by the dumpster....the maintenance guy comes along with a saw, cuts it up, and dumps it in the dumpster. Before I know what TVs were worth I saw him dump a couple in the dumpster. So, once I started scrapping, I started dumping my tubes there. Nobody has said anything. I once gutted a tv (in 3 minutes) next to the dumpster, and dumped the junk in, threw the good in my car to bust up at home. I have seen people break up tvs on peoples lawns though, which is really sad/pathetic. Especially the big screens. If you can't take it all and deal with it leave it alone. Just sayin.

It pisses me off becuse then people who have waved at me before as I drive by, think that I am the ass that made the mess! We have twice a year clean ups, and as that time comes to your neighborhood so do the jerks that leave messes and make us all look bad.

I would be embarassed to even be seen tearing something apart on someone elses lawn. Some scrappers just have no morals. If it doesn't fit, it gets left behind.

Last night I took an 8' piece of ductwork just for the switch that was mounted on it. I probably could have popped off the cover and removed the 4 screws, but that's a scumbag move IMO. I feel bad enough if I make noise while loading it up, let alone to be seen cherry picking from a pile of metal. I even felt bad leaving behind a few smaller round ducts so I took them too. When I was done, I put the barrel back on the grass where there was no room before I got there..

I hate 'em too, but don't forget to take a peek....some of those @$$holes are too stupid to know about the degausing cable or the board and wire. You may be able to clean up a little while you're at it. At least make a smaller pile if you can't take it with you.

No, I couldn't do that Dee, what if they think it was me that did it in the first place? I'm not going to take advantage when something like that went down . It would be like me going to the door, telling the homeowner what happened but do you mind if I take some stuff off it since its already smashed to smithereens?

I see your point...I find them outside the dumpsters often with only the yoke missing, but that's different. You're right, and thanks.

I hate those scumbag fake scrappers that do a disservice to true respectable scrappers and the environment. All scrappers have a responsibility to respect their pocket and their community.

I found a 36 inch yesterday with only the electric wire cut off. I'm telling you, ignorance is costly.
