Scrap dealing coming to a screeching halt

Weatherbug just predicted first snow of the season for tonight and tomorrow - 10 to 14 inches (254mm - 355mm). Time for me to hibernate by the woodstove and strip the copper wire I've been stockpiling.

People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Not sure if that's the same system that rolled thru here(Denver) a few days ago, we got about 8-10 of wet snow that made a mess off the trees and power, have fun. 60 today tho...nice recovery.

Burrr to cold for me. At least you have a plan. Saving the wire for foul weather days was a good idea.

A little wet here this morning but by this afternoon this will be me......

I'm in awe someone has that much snow already! It's been in the 40's in Ohio and I'm freezing out in my garage, time to move the tools to the basement for small breakdowns and so all big stuff at my dads with the torpedo heater.

We use 2 small electric heaters in our insulated garage and it keeps it warm, we are looking for a small gas wall heater on C.L. for cheap, that would be better on the utility bills. I see now why all our people head south for the winter.

You had me scared for a sec with the title. I was thinking some "great" new law had just been passed banning junkyards or something

Yep, prices are ultra low. Save your stash, wait till March. That's when prices will start going back up.

Mec, pick up a small wood stove. You can get one cheap off craigslist or wait till off season at lowes/home depot and grab one on clearance.

Nothing like heating a space with a renewable resource that tons of people just throw away. I heat my home and garage that way.

Also if you live in the country look for what they call a "Smoke Dragon" it's an older non EPA certified stove. You can only find them on craigslist. You can burn anything in them. ( Not Advised )

Started snowing about 8:00 last night. Snowed till about noon today. Now it's 3:45PM and 40F. Some snow on the yard but the driveway is mostly to the gravel.

I'm about 40 miles north of submarinepainter.
