so i found this post on cl and was wondering if there is any profit in it I usually only deal with steel or non Ferris can any of you e-scrappers help me out? they want 500 for it

Their wanting retail price for it, same as they would sell to a processor but their too lazy to box it up and ship it off. Maybe $50 bucks if I'd buy it. Don't get in over your head.

Thanks for the info ill see if they will take it but i don't think they will i had that happen with 1000 lbs of brass they wanted 5000 for it

Personaly I wouldnt pay more then $2 to $2.5 a pound on mother boards. really all depends on how much money you want to make from the deal and how much your time is worth. I do this part time for extra spending money so if I can make $1 a pound on theboards more then I paid for them after shipping im happy.

I'm thinking about buying some old PBX phone switches and was wondering if the circuit boards in the switches are considered high grade? Much appreciated if anyone has recycled old PBX switches.

What if you include the processor in the laptop boards? I just took one apart (old Toshiba pentium 1 laptop) where the cpu was built in to the motherboard. I pried it off just to see how it was connected. It pulled up a bunch of the gold wiring which I collected and put in a ziplock bag...
If the CPU is part of the MB and wont lift up then its to be left on the board. It wont bring the worth of the board up due to the fact that those CPUs have less gold.
