Of course I wouldn’t be fine with it, and this will touch every life some way in a negative aspect. You can call it dark, whatever you like. I simply believe this is one of many actions nature will take to relieve what I believe is the biggest problem of our society, and that is over population. Not enlightened or trying to convert people to my point of view. Clearly this is not the forum for that type of discussion so I got off subject and for that I apologize. Call it what you like.

Get out of here with your logic based arguments and your acknowledgement that the universe/nature/evolution is a FAR more powerful force than the 8 billion or so self-aware bipeds wandering around on this rock.

This conversation is supposed to be all about happy feelings and wishing for the best!

There's no reason why overpopulation can't be discussed here but thinning the herd comments are unacceptable and your "apology" was half assed. Like I said before there is an edit button. If you want people here to take you seriously remove the comment and try again.

"Overpopulation" only makes sense in the context of overconsumption. Otherwise you'd just be saying, "Meh, is too many people I think." But the vast majority of the world doesn't consume massive amounts of resources. It's wealthy countries like the US and European countries and Persian Gulf monarchies with high per capita rates of resource consumption (though China is catching up!). So overconsumption isn't related to overpopulation in practice. So your calls for a "culling" are not just cruel but arbitrarily cruel since they can't have any meaningful effect on overconsumption.
