    High Volume Aluminum Can Sell

Does having a high volume of aluminum cans give the seller any leverage in negotiating prices at the scrap yard? If so, what is considered hight volume?

high volume ANYTHING give you better prices in almost all cases. As to how much...depends on the yard. Make a call or better yet go by and ask to speak with one of the buyers. See what he says....then show the other yards and get the best pricing.
PROFIT is made when you BUY/ACQUIRE NOT when you sell

We are in Pittsburgh. You can politely ask a scrap yard if a higher volume will get you more money. My guess (we are catalytic converter buyers mainly) that if you have close to 1,000 lbs. someone may give you 2 to 4 cents more. Perhaps if they need an order to fill near a deadline, you might be able to squeeze an additional few cents but everything is depressed now metal wise.

If you put all your eggs in one basket, you have one basket... And volume should pay more than a one time weight! How many times can you fill the basket?

^^^^^this....the more times you can fill their order, the more VALUABLE you are to them (hence better prices)

Check Ben Weitsman of New Castle. Thier facebook page has current prices. I believe 42 cents for UBCs. Also have a number to call (Steve green) for prices on larger quantities.
