The easiest way I've found to list on Ebay is to first open an account. Once you do this log in. After you log in search for the item you are selling. When you find a listing, you will see a small link usually under the picture saying sell it yourself. This will pull up all the info from the listing. From there you can upload your own pictures, edit the title and other info, then list it.

If you are selling something that you cannot find, it's a bit more difficult. You can use this method to find something similar and then heavily edit the item for sale. It will at least get you into the correct category.

Once you do a few listings, you will start to get better and better at it and understand the options more.

Olddude-i have never used Inkfrog. I just E-mail myself the picts, download onto my computer, then use the search method Phantom001 mentioned. When I search the item I look at the sold listings find one that looks good(had several bidders or sold for real good price) then hit the "sell one like this" button. The first listing I did like this took maybe 20 or 30 min, after doing less than 10, it now only takes me maybe 10 min including pict time. I am basically a cyber idiot too, but if I can do it you can too. good luck and if you have anymore problems just ask.

have you downloaded the ebay app? Just take a photo of the item with your phone and type in a few things. Fairly easy.

also check out Google Goggle....supposedely lets you find values of items based on a photograph you take with your phone.

OldDude, also keep in mind that Ebay owns PayPal and together they can charge you up to 15%

    eBay and PayPal Fee Calculator

Yes, they even charge a % on what you charge for shipping, besides the final sale price.

that is why you include shipping into the sales price and offer free shipping.

George...Stop and put your thinking cap on for just a moment. If you bundle your shipping in with the cost of the item and call it Free Shipping, you are still being charged by Ebay in the Final Value Fee.

Exactly. No matter how you package it, they will get a fee one way or another. Other than Amazon, there is no competition for Ebay.

Hey Olddude.....loading the pictures is much easier than it used to be, ebay now hosts them for you. When you get into your listing just click on "add pictures" and then "browse" and look in your picture library to pick the ones you want.

First off, I'll state again that i am not a big fan of eBay. However, for my purposes, I find that i can charge more for certain items to cover these costs and my merchandise gets broadcast to MILLIONS of people. Some of the specialty items i deal with can not be sold locally as buyers are few and far between. That is one area where ebay is worth the 10-15% fee. Plus my money is secured through paypal instead of waiting on a check. Of course there are always exceptions, and certain items are just to competetively priced to make money. You have to find ways to be creative with the listing, or sell only in bulk, or secure a few buyers that might pay a bit more because they have a relationship with you, etc etc. Like George mentioned, I calculate what the item is worth to me, figure in shipping, then maybe add a bit more to cover the fees. I tend to stay away from auctions unless it is a popular product. Like anything else there is good and bad to work through. Every day you see listings in here of how "this yard cheated me", or "this buyer on the forum didnt deliver", or "my buyer never showed up so i have to list it again". These problems always cost you more. No one thing is everything to everyone, you just have to make it work for you. If you hate ebay, i get it...i really do! But it can work!

If you want to look at it like that, then yea that would be true.

However, the way I look at it, is that they are charging me 2 times, and NOT 3.

Just depends on how you look at it really.

I look at it my way, so I can have the false impression that they are not charging me for the shipping fee. I know I am still getting charged because it is included in the items pricing, but makes you feel little better to see 2 charges, and not 3.

I apologize to anyone who might be confused by that in some degree.

The benefit on bundling shipping costs and offering free shipping is that by offering free shipping you automatically get a 5 star rating in the shipping cat.
