Well THERE'S the problem! Five $4 cartridges damaged. You know, come to think of it, several of the HP 6578's that I sent them got rejected as damaged: 5 out of 8 I wonder if there's a pattern to them rejecting as damaged the higher-paying cartridges, and if that's nefarious or if they just check those a lot more carefully.

Still, even with a few of mine being rejected, I was pleased with the outcome. I'll just be more careful removing them & packing them from now on... I have several printer powercords at my workstation now so I can plug in printers & try to get the cartriges to slide over under their own power rather than prying at them.

Well, good luck anyway... and it looks like you'll pretty much have to send them another shipment just to get what you've already sent them paid.

Yea, I am not sure if I want to! I added the high price ones to ensure that I would get a check!

Sounds like those guys are not on my list to send stuff to based on the above. And I get quite a bit with my deal with the school recycling club.

I'm sure they scam countless people who think they are sending in $50+ worth of cartridges only to find out they are worth less than $25, so they can't get a check, and then they just forget about the site which leaves ecycle with free cartridges.

So was it worth it HOBO? shipping costs and all? I have at least 100 ink cartridges to sell and would rather get dollars than cents.

soo, if a cartridge has a scratch it's no longer useable? I think if you'll look close enough you'll find most are scratched before they get to the printer the first time, and if what they require is a totally perfect cartridge, i'll stop wasting my time retrieving them

They pay the shipping and they only buy what's on their list: Price Lists | eCycle Group

I'd be curious to find others who have sent them big lots to see if a disproportionate number of their high-value cartridges got rejected.

I can see both sides of such a pattern: perhaps they're nefariously underpaying people, or perhaps they more closely/carefully inspect the high-value cartridges as part of their quality control.

I'll probably use them again even with those unanswered questions. It's not like there are a whole lot of other buyers beating down my door, and with the roadblocks the bigbox office stores have thrown up in front of recycling for profit with them, it's too much of a PITA to jump through all their frickin hoops. Better to just send off a box on their dime & take what I get from them, IMHO.

Funny part is all the HP 22's ($4.00 ones) came from my own printer. I can see them getting scratched as you are forcibly removing them from a scrap printer. I am happy to be getting a check... Funy that the one $5.00 cartrige that I ripped out of a printer was taken no problems, It had been sittting outside in the AZ heat for over a year! LOL Someone that has a bunch should send in some and see what happens. Now I still want to find a way to get rid of all the other ink jets that are not on anyones buy list! Sent in 2 lbs of stuff getting $19 should have been $40! But heck that is still $9.50 a pound for what they took...

I shipped off another big-ol box to them last Monday. Their website shows it got 'batched' yesterday & will be counted out in its turn. I guess they count them out in the order they arrive... will keep yall posted.

I'm really curious to see the ratio of rejects in the high-value cartridges. If it's disproportionate (again) I might have to make a phone call...

Sending out a box to ecycle I calculated had $64 worth of cartridges in it(about 50 total). We will see how it works out, the process was easy thus far. The leftovers will get taken to staples.

Well, just got the detail on my shipment... Just like I expected, 30 bucks lighter than it should have been: I sent 99 bucks worth of empties, but 30 bucks worth were "damaged", and most of those were the high value ones.

So... do I call & rant & rave at someone who probably doesn't really care, or do I just accept the fact that they send me a shipping box, they pay the shipping, and they at least give me ~some~ money for my empties, unlike the big-box office supply stores who seem to add more hoops every time I try & recycle with them?

isn't that how it always work.. when You have a load of toner, or ink cartridge and you let it go for a small bucket of change.. and then you find out something that is worth keeping and selling it..?
