You pay 75%? You weigh his items seperate from your other stops? Sorry for the confusion. Do you weigh them on scale at in his view on a scale on your truck then match up the weight tickets later??? How can he be sure the weights are accurate and you're not shorting him? < ;) maybe if you negotiated a daily or weekly payment at 50%. Instead of a bi- monthly payment plan. Perhaps this would entice him. Daily cash upon pickup. Based on the going rate of your yard. That would allow you to stockpile until prices were over 50% of your original purchase price.

wow! ok, the contract needs a "slow times" clause. Such as a backhoe operator will have a "rock" clause. If he quotes a price to dig a ten ft hole, presuming it's all dirt(possibly as he was "told" it would be), but 5 ft down (mere examples) hits solid rock, the contract shifts gears. Maybe you should review your contract for future agreements. I try to give folks the benefit of the doubt, sometimes even in the face of many reasons not to, and even in your case, lol, i'm still trying ; ) There still could possibly be other reasons than him just trying to cheat ya, but while you're trying to figure that one out, it might do well to be documenting things such as volvo suggested, in case it does wind up coming to that

slow down! Don't do anything that might hurt you in the end. Not every day is gonna be a mother load. You gotta be looking at the whole picture. Sounds like you got a pretty lucrative thing going at times though! Try to ride it out, and like others say, find something to be doing since your out there anyways! Even if its hauling trash, something, keep an open mind and in the end it will work out!

A daily contract sounds like an awful idea.

Seems to me is wasnt always bad, though a $1500 early contract fine is something that got over looked, and should have been address when the contracted was being formed

I have numerous contracts/accounts and here's how I do it:

Pickup once a week at a set time. Account A I pickup Monday at 9am, Account B Tuesday at 10a, etc. I do not pay for ferrous, but do pay for alloy wheels, batteries, and large quantities of aluminum such as clean cast or extrusion. Usually 40% of yard price.

My contract is pretty simple- I get all scrap on premises and I detail the types of scrap(this varies by account). It specifies what day and time I will be there and if I need to come a second time per week then they just give me a call. No early termination fees or anything like that, but I do hand out freebies on occasion such as $25 gift card to a local restaurant, couple 12 packs of beer, etc. That goes a LONG way!
