IS this bad news (junkyards closed)

I went to my normal yard today.....I use them because they buy my e-scrap not worth shipping.....Pulled up and they are closed for "inventory".....So went down street to yard that buys everything at one price just so I could unload my truck (I needed it empty to go out of town).......Anyway after waiting almost thirty minutes for them to open I find out they have been closed all week......Finally found another little junkyard that would buy my e-scrap but at very low prices........I sold most of my scrap and a few things and went to the house..........I knew prices would drop but this makes me worry that smaller yards will stop buying all together......Anyways a frustrating morning and I postponed my trip till tommorow

I think your going to find that they do that because of holidays and vacations, sometimes they try to incorporate them together for minimal down time. Just guessing tho,,,

My yard is actually using the car crusher to make shred squares to store and save for when prices may go back up.

As much as I hate to say it I think it may be bad news because I called up my yard today to check metal prices and it has dropped from $11 per 100lbs to $8, it really hurt my feelings. I know some of you are thinking that's still a good price but it's a massive drop.
