Power supplies go out in computers all the time. Most of my computer repair clients give me huge boxes at a time. People will buy cheap computers with crap power supplies in them and next thing they know it has to be replaced. You can usually tell a low grade power supply by the wire...It is thinner and there are fewer wires.
