I find that amazing it is not legal in NY. It is very comon in the pool grade form as a filter media for pools.
And food grade is sold at feed stores for cheap.
Another good dusting material is Borax, "Boric acid". I am an organic gardener from before it was popular.
I really need to clean out my shed so I have a place to breakdown my computer scrap...wife would throw me out if I brought roaches into the house. I'm already treated as a second-class citizen as it is!
Borax is a mediocre dusting agent but really good when put in food bait for things like ants and roaches. Super cheap, easy and effective ant poison: Take 2 parts melted butter, 1 part sugar and 1 part borax (yup, the laundry soap) and mix together and pour into the little soda bottle caps. The stuff will congeal and the ants usually love it. They share the poison amongst themselves and it tears up their insides and they basically die from dehydration and infections. You can leave it out as long as you need to and it is basically harmless to pets and people.Quote:

Just a FYI on the commercial grade rodent bait and traps....It will be ineffective! In fact what you or they are really doing is putting out food for the rodents. Yes it might kill them, but at days end you cannot kill them all. To me, those exterior mouse traps are the ultimate con job. The exterminator can point to a dead rodent and say ":see, it's working" "let's put out more bait" Then next week the same result and so on...wash, rinse, repeat..............lolQuote:

They come with the package so if they work or not im paying for them. It dont matter to me as this is a business expense that gets written off at the end of the year anyways.Quote:
