Broke down a load of E-Scrap. Went to a new place, are their prices on par?

Well, had a blow out with my normal yard. So i said to hell with it and went to my back up plan. A local e-scrap company that buys computers and all that. This is their price list.

    .20 # "mixed drives"
    .15 # "cases w/ guts"
    1.75 # "boardage"
    .20 # "power supply"
.20 # "routers, modems, old broken laptops, etc"
    2.50 # "ram"

All in all i made $51 today with a small load i had.

So you other e-scrap guys, are these prices comparable to yer prices? By the way, "boardage" is low grade boards.

OH, and he gave me a pair of binoculars! Haha, not even joking. He got a bunch of them from our local military base. He sells them at his shop for $35 a pair. They're pretty nice, auto focus and the whole 9 yards. Cant beat free!

I made a couple calls yesterday, getting some prices on boards, My regualr yard doesnt take any e-waste. called another, they were way less than my regular yard on #2 copper (their prices almost seemed like they sell to the big yard in town) and they offered me between .02 and .05 for ALL boards, the lady on the phone kinda tried to say it low "you might wanna call around" LOL really?

Am I missing something. We have Easy and Computer Scrapper right here on the forum. Easy's prices are here for all to see, and both of them have given us a virtual education on e-scrap. It's none of my business where you take your stuff, but I'm saving mine until I get enough to send to Easy unless something drastic changes. It just so happens that Computer Scrapper was off line for a while when I first came on or it could have been him, and others on the forum have enjoyed doing business with him. I'm not a math person, but I'm a loyal person. I don't spend a lot of time crunching numbers, but I know I appreciate all I've learned from Easy, and unless my opinion of him changes, I'm doing business with him.

I have some boards. I need to figure out what grade they are. Mainly stuff from stereo receivers, dish receivers, treadmills, etc.

If im correct I believe those would be low grade boards. Dish recievers might be mid grade?

TheHoss looks like you made $86, it just so happens that $35 was in the form of merchandise.

I wish I had what you do there. I would love to have a place to send low grade stuff and cd rom/floppy drives and power supplies. I have to break all mine all the way down to get rid of them. No one here even takes them free.

High grade stuff, you will have to pay to ship it, but you should be doing much better then those prices even after shipping. I am getting around $4.50 / lb for motherboards and $16 / lb for ram. Sell processors also online... they bring a lot.

    I use boardsort.com

Easy may be closer to you so shipping to him may be cheaper.

Easy I agree that he got ripped off. I dont know about out by Hoss but there are only a few regular metal yards here that take escrap and the prices they pay are abysmal. Just for kicks I called a couple local places for pricing and high grade boards go for .50-1.75/lb. Even had one yard say a gaylord of motherboards was green board. This is why people like you and I are so busy. We pay realistic fair competitive prices.
