    Server Ram

Do you take the Heat Sinks off of Server RAM or leave them on? I've taken off dozens of Heat Sinks from Server RAM but it seems the RAM sticks are much lighter than normal Desktop RAM. Not to mention, the Thermal Paste mess left on the chips just gets all over everything.

My suggestion would be the ones with the clips remove them as even if lighter price per lbs is double digit per lb price. Riveted ones if you have te right tool then I would take them off

The ones with the clips I always take off.
The riveted ones are mostly very easy to do too, just insert a flat blade screwdriver next to the rivet and twist. They will pop right off.
The ones with the glued on heatsinks I leave together, as the chips will mostly peel off if you try to pry off the heatsinks.
