    Shipping CPU's and memory

Currently I'm sending these items wrapped up in bubble wrap and I was wondering what some of you use.

I am about to prep a shipment of 20-50 cpus this week.... all pinless intel i[3/5/7]s..... I am just going to wrap one, fold, add another, fold, etc, until I get about 5 or ten in a bubble wrapped stack. and will send a few stacks tighetly packed, with more bubble wrap, in a box. If they were pinned ones being sold for reuse Id either send them in the motherboards, or pressed carefully into some styrofoam/padding

Anti-static bags are industry standard for shipping computer parts.....I usually get some turned in for recycling and they are cheap on ebay in bulk

Oh yea I got tons of them.... After wrapping in bubble wrap, Ill probably put each stack of wrapped chips into an antistatic bag.

You would want to place in the anti-static bag first then wrap with bubble wrap unless you are using anti-static bubble wrap (yes they make such a thing)

If your shipping any quantity then this place sells trays. If your shipping CPU's this is the best way to ship them. even bubble wrap can rip off the little capacitors on the bottom.

I usually tape the CPU's to a thick sheet of cardboard, fully covered with wide packaging tape, and folded over the edges. Then place the "trays" in a box, with some bubble wrap between the layers. Maybe not perfect, so far worked out good. These are all for pinless CPUs only. I seldom sell any pinned CPUs as those are usually scrap anyways.

2x3in anti static bags $24 for 1000. I sell all mine on ebay and idk about you guys but if i was to buy a CPU on ebay and it was wrapped in anything but anti static material i would be pissed.

These are what I use. I bought either 50 or 100 laptop memory trays, 50 or 100 desktop memory trays and 50 or 100 cpu trays. Most of your Intel chips will fit in one size tray. These trays hold 21 CPUs. They memory trays come in different sizes. I bought the 50 slot trays. 4 years later, it's time to reorder. I'm out of laptop memory trays and only have a couple cpu trays left.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

Anti-static bubble wrap usually does the trick just fine. TBH, I've had a lot of people send me CPUs/RAM that's just packed in regular bubble wrap just fine, and one guy even wraps them in office paper and sends them like that. I've yet to have a failed CPU, but I wouldn't advise using office paper. If you have the anti-static bags, they do just fine too. If not- bubble wrap should do the trick for CPUs. When I ship, I use a lot of anti-static bubble wrap. The bags should work, but I have an easier time making a "brick tight" package with the bubble wrap. I really don't like sticks moving around, and like the cushion that the bubble wrap offers
