    LCD Projectors-What to do?

    Hey, everybody.

A local school with two campuses cleared out their older-model Promethean PRM-20 projectors and brought them our way. At first, they only brought a couple and I thought they would probably be worth dismantling, as a part of the "I Wonder What's Inside" pile. But they have since brought me about 30 more and the pile is getting a little intimidating. Scrap-wise, they aren't really worth much and they are still functional, though the lamps are pretty old. I had thought about putting them on Electronic-Bay but the sheer volume has put me off, since I don't have time to list them singly and I've never sold anything there with freight as a shipping option. Any suggestions? I could send them to our general electronics recycler but that seems a waste, since we don't get paid for that material and these units aren't trashed.

    Thanks!

If you are interested in selling them on ebay check the sold section and put together a similar listing. You will notice that many have multiples available and its easy to see while listing doing the listing how to make it a multiple listing.

Shipping is the key. Will these fit into a USPS Medium Flat Rate box if they do then they will like also fit in the USPS Region B box. There are different rates for depending on the shipping location and destination. It's important to learn which is the cheapest for each of your buyers. By offering USPS Priority shipping but not specifying which you will use you can use what is best for you.

They are just a smidge too big to fit in a Flat Rate or Regional box. I found one similar listing but it was for a brand-new unit, unused and zero hours logged on the bulb. I didn't see any lots of them or successive individual listing of used/refurb projectors.

The lamps seem to have value but they will have quite a few hours on them, being from a school. Of course, I'm going to pull lamps, anyway, because they have mercury in them and I can't have that going to the shredder. Projector lamps as a resale item interest me but I've found that once you cross into the 1000's of hours, the value dies off pretty hard.
