The more i read the OP the angrier i get. what is so darn hard about asking first? im sure if you made an offer a little better than what they'd get in scrap it wouldnt be a problem. this kind of behavior gives scrappers a bad name and why it is hard to earn a potential clients trust
I don't see why people are so angry at original poster. He basically just asked if anyone has witnessed a situation where someone stole from a donation area and what happened. We all know stealing is wrong so don't do it!! My question is when goodwill or any other of these donation boxes are set somewhere is that legal on their end?? The way i see these clothes and shoes bins etc show up places I cant imagine they are paying the owner to have them there (and by the way they disappear I assume they don't). But like others have said, ask, find out if you can purchase items, etc. Worse they say is no.
