    telecom vs ebay.

As I prepare to sell. I go to ebay and review looking for family boards (same, simular ).I find a few and the prices are 5-600% per piece. Really ? Worth the risk ? Does anyone sell ebay insurance? I'm confused and scared. Ripped in either direction. How can one go right ? Ouch . Brain overload. ☆☆☆☆☆¿

I'm not quite sure what you are asking...

When you do your eBay research, make sure to go Advanced Search & check SOLD items to get a better idea of an item's value.
OR sell to one the buyers on the forum.

If you are scared to sell on eBay, fear not. Use Pay Pal & never ship before you receive payment.
State clearly that the boards are sold for scrap only, and there are no returns.
I have sold alot of stuff on eBay: it is a good resource.

Personally, I will be selling my next load to a highly rated SMF buyer.
    Scrap on.......

Well it seems I cant add to my other post for some strange reason. So...double post! ( I really hate this laptop)

I was going to add to my first post, that if your going to go eBay like others said you can't be scared of it. Spin showed you how to research. Make sure you make the add pretty spelling an grammar wise or folks will skip right on by you. I hope you got a degree in hoop jumping an a masters in CYA, cause eBay isn't doesn't really allow rookie mistakes, specially with all their new silly changes. eBay is truth to the statement "a blessing and a curse" hopefully you'll get the blessing side.

Either way good luck an listen to these people replying to you. They sell, an do quite well on eBay.

Now I'm off to ponder how much trouble I'll be in if I shoot the wife's laptop. <insert not nice words here to describe my current laptop)

Should have a look at Terapeak, pretty nifty tool if you're going to get big on there. I don't use eBay, however, it's a very good market tool either way.

Finally someone other then myself proclaiming the merits of Terapeak.

I just might have a fit of giggles seeing someone else suggest it.

Don't know why more of you don't suggest this to people using ebay. Not like it's a big secret anymore. Using the sold/completed is nice an all, but Terapeak gives you all this an way more. Including going back a year. Trends, up's an downs. I used it when you had to pay.
Oh they have it for Amazon to, if any use it. I'm only used the eBay one tho.

I felt it was well worth the money when I had to pay for it. But as the saying goes...YMMV.

Edit: Edited to remove the free terapeak, it's Mysales by terapeak that is free. Not Terapeak itself. Figured I should correct it as I misspoke on the free part. I still suggest you folks check into the paid version tho.

Sirscrapalot - Glad to know he's not crazy..well lest not that crazy.

Alright, I may have to eat my words. Edit: Eating my words, see bottom edit. Thanks

I'm excitable. An it's terapeak..awesome freaking resource. Thank you ryan for sending me crashing back to earth. I still stand by why I don't understand more of you not using this market research tool, specially you guys talking about selling on there all the time. I would think the cost for you all would pay for it self by saving you time on research. I used to use it all the time with my old site, an dealing on ebay. It made my life so much easier. I know some of you sell anything an everything on there, not just ewaste. I guess I'm more surprised I don't see folks talking about it.

Edit: Removing the free terapeak. It's mysales by Terapeak that is free. Thanks to Ryan for having me check again. Apologies.

Sirscrapalot - Mmm, words taste good, humble pie not so much.

Terapeak Releases Free Version of MySales Ecommerce Intelligence Tool -- PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

Maybe this will help. Says date of 12/2013. They released a free version. Not sure if you get all the features in the paid one, but you get some of teh good stuff. No mention tho of how far back you can see sales.

Maybe I won't have to eat that humble pie.

Edit : You can also do a free trial. I see now they offer a monthly deal. When I had it, it was only by the year. For me it was worth it at the time.

Sirscrapalot - Free is good, but the paid is worth it.

I'm not even an eBay seller, but I use Terapeak regularly to research prices. It's not perfect, but at least it gives a full year's worth of most types of data.

Bleh, time get off my soapbox, an try to actually sleep. lol.

    A good weekend to all!

To tell the truth, I had completely forgotten about looking into it a long time ago, and your post got me looking again. You got me all excited, and I thought I had missed some terapeak app hidden in my ebay manager! Oh well, I'm going to take your advice though and subscribe. Thanks!

Let me know how it works for you. I can't be to wrong if FL an Emeeks use it also an like it.

I'm sure it's improved quite a bit since I last used it regularly.

It's an awesome tool, and I speak very highly of it. I've had a good rule of thumb, with buying/selling electronics. When people come into my shop and try to sell me a laptop or desktop, I check Terapeak for the model number and/or parts (if it's broken) to see if I can maximize the return on my investment (buying their electronics).

It's not perfect, but it does a good job.

eBayers know what they want, and since there's so many people on there, it's a good reference tool to determine how much money people are willing to pay for whatever.

If you need help using it let me know. I know they have a free trial for it somewhere.
