    Some of my ewaste finds

I thought I would start a thread and post pics of some of the items I bring home.
I've been in the telecom business since 84 and this gives me access to a lot of old telephone and data equipment. When I install new equipment the customer usually lets me haul the old equipment away. All of the scrap I receive is free and I feel very blessed because of this.
I always make sure people have my contact info in case they have more stuff to haul.
I don’t sell anything on ebay but I do have other sources for any electronics that are still in good working order.
The first pics came from some digital business phones. Each phone had 3 separate circuit boards. Pics show the front and back of each.
The last two pics are of the board that came out of the LCD. Each one has a copper sheet (#2) that covers the back of the board.

Haha, that top board kind of looks it has a smiley face in the first pic.

Thanks for sharing Jim! An I hear you on the resale thing. I'm in the same camp as you, dealt with ebay back in the day, an am done with it, unless someone else is selling it for me.

Can pull some nice boards from all kinds of phones in my experience. I love getting phones, never know what you'll find in them!

Thanks again for sharing! Look forward to more.

Picked up a small load on the way home from work today. Starting at the bottom left and going clockwise, a box of copper wire (30lbs), 2 APC 2200 UPS's, 1 NEC phone system, a 2 port KVM switch and underneath it some kind of Dell tapedrive. Next is a keyboard and printer, a box of 10 NEC Dterm digital phones and in the center, 2 APC 1000 UPS's.

Nice find! You should be able to get over $100 apiece for all those UPS's on $Bay. Somebody bought one of the black ones last week for $399:

That is if they are working

I like the copper from the transformer and the battery, nice little pieces to pick up.

I can't believe you're up and about after all that snow clearing you did today! Anyway, yep, good point about functionality. I swear to you, though, I even saw some sold "for parts" for $100. Maybe they're easy to repair?

I know the phone system works. The UPS's work also, they just need new batteries.
I would say 90% of the 'scrap' I get is working when I remove it. My problem is time. I have a full time job installing phone systems and when I get home I have 5 or 6 hours left before it's time to go to bed. I try to spend this time with my family.
Trying to find buyers for this stuff or selling on ebay is something I'm just not going to do. If there's someone in the Nashville area that does sell on ebay, PM me. I'll test what I can and you can sell and ship this stuff.

I just sold an NEC phone system like the one pictured for 300.00. With the phones you could potentially see double that.

I dont like the fact that the first board says NSA in the bottom left corner. Theyre always listening and watching... They could be watching right now... Let me just put my aluminum foil hat back on...

NSA, The only part of our government who cares what we have to say.
I talked to a neighbor who owns a small computer store and he showed interest in some PC's I have. Going to give him a call today about the battery backups and the phone systems I get also.
