    socket size

ok, i know it's probably here but i can't seem to find it. i am looking for a dimension for small sockets so i can sort my boards. i saw in a thread small sockets are 2 1/4 or less but which way is the socket measured. i have some that if measured one way they are larger that 2 1/4 but less than that the other way. is there a simpler way to sort them without measuring them?

P4 boards are small socket. Be they 478's, 775's, or 939's. I know I've missed a few but you can tell when you tear them dowm by the processor.

There's a sizeable difference between the "smallest" "large socket", and the "largest" "small socket" ; ) I don't even think about measuring

The ones I was sorting the other day, the bigger ones must be at least a quarter inch larger all the way around.

Large socket; They must have a main cpu socket that is 2 inches or larger.

Small Socket; They include any boards that have main cpu sockets that are smaller than 2 1/8 inches

I'm trying to pick out all the large socket colored boards to send to CFCS. Since most of the sockets are rectangle, not square, I'm not sure which to send. Any tips on seperating them?

One is bigger, one is smaller. I guess I am missing the confusion..hmmmm

The only confusion I have ever had with people I have had work for me was explaining that slot processors go with large socket.

Am I missing something here? This seems to be simple to me. Maybe I am the one who is confused. Wouldn't be the first time I assure of that.

Ah Ha...I see my mistake. Large socket is 2.0 or greater and I was thinking 2.25.
