    UPDATE: Escrap collection event

As many know from my original post about 2 months back, I believe it was, VIP Recycling was involved in a recycling event today.

Our contract was to recycle all the unwanted electronics that anyone dropped off.

To answer everyone's questions, yes we got our fair share of TV's. Roughly 15 to 20 of them. Good news is, they are all being donated to my contact at the Church that provides me with some junk removal jobs, and a load of scrap metal every month. He has a contact that takes them and sends them over seas (dont remember exactly what they do with them, but they go to a great cause).

Even though I am giving away money, I see it as building that relationship even more, and that to me is worth more than the measley $4 per tv.

The pc monitors will get processed and the remainder of the pc monitors sent to the recycling center at the landfill.

We got a good amount of printers that will be processed for the inkjet cartridges and those will be sent to this website that pays for them.

The boards and other goodies will be removed, and the remainder will be sent to the recycling center.

Then we also got a good amount of desktops and a few laptops, which of course will all get processed the traditional way.

Also, going to be hearing from a potential client for a hot tub removal for $300 to $350, depending on a few things.

Handed out a ton of business cards.

All in all a good day.

Will post a picture tomorrow of all the goodies I got. Would have done it today, but we are experiencing 100+ in the heat, and after standing in the hot sun for 5 hours, I was about to faint.

Good deal and drink some water, George.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Yeah went to 7-11 this morning, and bought a 24 pack for like $4. A lot cheaper than buying individual bottles.

I could care less to be truthful. I know that what I will be doing with them isnt causing any dealths, or pollutants.

If I didnt donate them, they would be processed and then the rest would be taking to the recycling center at the landfill, but then I get accused of polluting the earth, even though they dont get put into the ground.

At least I am not like most around my area and simply dump them in the woods.

When you planned this a couple of months ago I bet you didn't think it would be a hundred degrees on June 1. I am sure your event kept stuff from being dumped in the woods or side of road.

I can only hope that it did.

To be honest, I was expecting it, but wasnt counting on it, since winter and fall was all screwed up lol.

as much as I dislike to admit, I would have no idea if I even had one.

They are mostly dells, with a few being something else. I think custom built ones.

The boy scouts here in town just had an ewaste fundraiser to get to a jamboree in alberta, I went, donated a few vcrs, phones....and tryed to buy the computers for 3 times what they were getting for them. I left the guy a couple cards he said maybe next year, was told one of the kids in the pack his father owns the bin rental company and had a deal that they get everything donated, he seemed happy with his price but was impressed with all laptops and desk tops at 5 a piece. I guess a deal is a deal on his end even tho my price was 2.00 to 2.50 higher pr unit. After setting that bin 95% full its made me take a second look at our advertising.

There is a sticker on the outside of the case that tells you what type of processor is inside. If not the after removing the heatsink, the top of the cpu will tell you what is is as well. You may have to wipes of some paste but it is there.

Good deal. That coffee maker, like the 7-11 type, look at it for parts. Those commercial makers can draw a good buck in. Keep it up, we all would like days like that.
