    what are lithium-ion batteries worth?

I have a pretty good bit of these (cellphone)batteries saved up, but cant find a buyer,or even a price?
What are these worth/lb or are they worthless?

I think the concensus here is that cellphones are best shipped whole to a buyer with backs and batteries attached. More bang for the buck that way. as far as just selling the batteries go to the buyers section and pm a few to see if they buy them. Not all of them list everything that they buy.

Several buyers on here accept cell phone batteries with out the phone. As said before check the buyers section, an not all list that they do. A pm/email to one will clear things up just spiffy for you.

An when you find one who does, remember to tape the contacts. Folks tend to get pissy when you make planes an other things catch on fire cause ya didn't.

An this is just my opinion, and mine alone..but most of our buyers have better prices then boardsort. Compare an pick whichever is best for you!

Not trying to promote anybody but Ewasted buys them for about 1.00 per lbs. Like the other post said make sure you tape the contacts before you ship them.

Considering the fact that I have a couple of cell phone batteries that are about ten tears old and still working well I would think that finding a way to reuse them would be great.

I would rather scrape my knuckles across the back of a motherboard for 10 minutes than tape all the contacts on my large assortment of batteries. You need to try and find a local place to take your batteries. Ask around at various scrap yards and maybe something will pop up. You would be surprised how many buyers for different things are nearby but dont advertise (I dont know why).

I'll say that I just have collected laptop li-on batteries etc for a bit, just got an email from a buyer in WI that pays $2.05 for laptop li-on batteries and $1.10 for cell phone batteries - they pay all shipping. I think as the rare-earth materials are used more and more the prices are going to slowly climb up.

check out like a battery store in your area.. sometimes they may buy back batteries probably not as much as You like to get.. but You can ship them unless you tape all them ends off...

Thats what I do.. When I drop off My load of batteries I do it myself I take it to the buyer and I also tape off all the leads especially on lead acid batteries.

    Good LUck..
