    Thumbs down just nasty

let me start by saying not much grosses me out but this took it to a whole new level. the inside of this tv looked like a shag carpet and everything was dripping in nicotine
there was 3" of dust bunnies on the board between that and the brown slime it looked like old carpet. i should of taking a pic but i scraped on.

my wife made salmon for dinner........ i couldn't swallow it

i've seen some nasty computers but this was intense, no wonder it was on the curb the nicotine probably shorted it out

I know i'm not alone here

I've seen some bad ones also, but was it a TV or a computer??

I grabbed a monitor from the curb once, and I am so glad I popped that badboy open on the tailgate of my truck before moving it to the garage, porch, or (heaven forbid) my home. About 150 roaches scattered as soon as the cover came off.....they were everywhere. I swept as many to the driveway as I could and stomped them. Disgusting!

After scrapping a few computer power supplys & feeling sick during/afterwards, sweaty face etc.

I diverted the waste water from my dishwasher & 1/2 filled a plastic drum with the waste hot water, added some dishwash & dunked all of the power supplys into it, gave it a swish & soak & then pulled them out, still hot & let them dry.

The stuff inside them just balls up into small clumps in the water & the power supplys were real clean & the caps are all discharged.

I pulled ten of them apart & didn't even break a sweat.

Last week at a fundraiser drive for a local elementary school that has an educational garden plot, I got a computer from a cat hoarder's house. The sides of the case were crusty & rusty from cat urine. The thing was so bad, when I took my bulky scrap run, and the case, internal wiring, & the power supply were in the load in the back of the pickup, I could still smell them back there despite the fact that I was going 50 MPH down the road with the windows down. I'm not sure how that's even possible. The boards are in a bag in the corner of the barn at my father-in-law's farm. I couldn't stand to hold onto them in my garage til my next ewaste run.

But, yeah... as a 25 year smoker that's 6 years, 2 months, 25 days 6 hours and 31 minutes quit (but who's counting? LOL) I shudder to think that that's how I smelled all those years when I'm breaking down a smoker's computer, TV, cellphone, etc.

Used to pull satellite boxes out of peoples houses that had the same problem. Roaches and a nicotine ring around what they where sitting on. I absolutely can't stand roaches.

I opened a tv once that was a giant mouse house very gross. Kinda turned me off of tv breakdowns. Also got a few tower once that I sprayed with bleach and then the garden hose to get out the boards. The smell of dead mice and their urine is the worst.

I picked up a load of computers last week that were in some guys pole barn for years. I was breaking one of them down and a mouse ran out. That was pretty unexpected, I about jumped out of my skin there.

Maybe you should soak those boards in some bleach water before mailing them off!

Had some of those mouse house towers myself.....disgusting and a health hazard.

I am far from being housekeeper of the year, but the way some people live is amazing.

I cleaned up a pile of rusty tin that had been sinking into the dirt for years behind an old homeplace up the road. Noticed a mouse nest in the dirt underneath getting uprooted in the process. I also loaded a couple barrels of old cans, jars, and other miscellaneous debris that had been left there. I sorted it out behind the barn, and noticed the mouse had moved into one of the barrels. A few days later I unloaded the tin, which shook the dirt off, and saw the mouse had moved back in. I restacked the tin in a way the yard could grab it more easily, then had a call to pick up some stuff, and headed to the yard to unload. After they'd grabbed the tin, and we'd tossed the rusty cans and remaining pieces of tin, a yard hand says "there goes a mouse!" I glanced over to see that mouse one last time headed through the tailgate to disappear into the scrapyard. Goodbye lil mouse, haha ; )

irrespective of whether someone is rich or poor- its never an excuse to be dirty.

im a plumber & i get to see peoples kitchen sinks & bathrooms/toilets.
dont know whether they piss in the toilet or around it...

its very sad when people are filthy- i mean, its THEIR home, why keep it so filthy?
ive seen very poor people with immaculate homes & then ive seen rich ppl with filthy homes.
