    Question Samsung HLP4663W 46" 1080i HD

So a buddy asked if I want his old tv for scrap. I've been debating whether or not to start dabbling with e-scrap as I don't understand a whole lot about boards and such. This is a Samsung HLP4663W 46" 1080i HD, with a large plastic screen. i guess if I tear it apart at least I won't have a CRT to have to get rid of...? Does anyone know anything about these?

I would take it to your local tv repair shop and see if they want to buy it from you before you tear into it. A lot of times they will buy it, albeit cheap. If they say no ebay it. Then give it a couple of days if you dont have any takers bust that sucker open and get the board.

I would just scrap it. It could be sold but would be a really slow sell, you can't ship it, it just isn't in demand. If it works you could pull some parts like the main board and sell it on ebay. Everyone wants a Plasma or LCD tv, no one wants a projection TV.

I have had great success with the TV shop thing. Was getting around $30 per unit last time I sold.

Cool. I'm gonna ask dude whats wrong with it, see if a tv shop wants it, if nothing, I'll tear it down. It'll be my first attempt at harvesting a "board"... i did see the projection box for sale on ebay...

I sell the lenses from those for $20-30 per set on ebay. And yes, you will have 3 baby crt's to get rid of.
