I need a little help my buyer doesn't care if I remove my ic chips On my boards so I pull them off my low grade there silver in color legs havnt come across the gold ones yet so if you guys could tell me the price on ic chips an any buyers that are recommended on the forum

Those are ones that have gold showing. The plain Jane ones I normally get from most boards including low grade boards are the ones buyers here are paying upto $5-$6lb. The ones showing gold would be worth seeking higher prices as Jghilion has pointed out. MikeOriginally Posted by jghilino

I sold 18 pounds of what the OP describes sell for over $9 a pound on Ebay and they paid shipping.

i didnt see any windows in the lots im seeing going for $10 pound
im seeing $10 on plain ics, $30 on silver windows, $50 on gold windows and $100 on gold windows with gold legs, ceramic gold top/legs is the highest. ebay completed listings
Dont forget the Fee's
$10 - 9% ebay fee - listing fee's - paypal fee's - gas 2/from post office.

Lets break it down then for 1 lb material sold on eBay:
average 13% on eBay/Paypal fees = $1.30
listing fee free if auction, but figure .50 for regular
trip to post office regarless of who you sell to = 0.00
$10 - $1.80 in fees = $8.20. Still better than $6.00 per pound?

I sent you a PM. I don't remember ever seeing a gold or silver IC chip on low grade boards most gold chips will be on higher grades of boards.
This is where people lose focus on costs. Driving to the post office costs you money unless you walk and even then it costs you money.
Your time is worth money. Dont throw your time away. If it takes you 1 hour to walk to the post office that is 1 hour you lose from doing other things. I figure my time at about $25 per hour.
Lets assume you drove and it took you 30 minutes and the miles were 10. Well it costs about $0.50 per mile to travel so that will be $5 but you will get that back in tax's. Well 30 minutes of time is still $12.5
But you also need to factor in time it takes to weigh them, take pics and list on ebay. Lets assume your fast and this takes 30 minutes. That's an additional $12.5 of time.
Now if i was bringing them to my supplier it take lets say 5 minutes to pack them into the car with the other material. That 5 minutes cost me $2.08
Ebay is better in large bulk but for small amounts. Buyer's win hands down.
I request a FREE carrier pick up when I pay for the postage online from USPS. Put it in mailbox, raise flag and done.

I'm no fan of ebay, and most of that breakdown was for my own benefit to gauge costs. But if a person does not have a buyer local, they have to ship it regardless...either to buyer here on forum or on eBay. That is why the cost is a wash for me. The picture taking and listing is a real pain for me...not difficult, just something i dont like to do. The weighing is done regardless of who i sell it to. I wouldnt want to ship off a package not knowing what to expect in the end. Its a good topic to discuss as it affects our bottom line. Its always good to have options. I use a variety of local, online, SMF and Craigslist outlets depending on what i'm handling.
