    PCs, Printers etc... SCORE

Okay, first I'll introduce myself. I'm Matt, I've been scrapping for a little while. I've got a lot of e scrap, but haven't sold any yet. My first big haul got me hooked, 2 pickup loads of pcs. Anyway... so I got a text message from a friend of mine I haven't seen since high school (I'm 30). He said he saw a status I had posted on facebook saying I was looking for e waste to scrap. He said that his father had recently died and they are cleaning up the yard. He used to be in the Army Surplus business and was a farmer as well so they have a ton of junk. He said he was going to be looking for a way to get rid of all these electronics, for free if possible... I asked him how much he had and he said....

5 53' Semi Box trailers FULL

I'll be going there tomorrow to start, one pickup load at a time. I will take pictures. I figure if I can get a pickup load a week I'll stay busy for the next 40 years. lol

Welcome to the forum, congrats on the score and take photos. Sometimes in the past the best I can do is look at others scores. Mike.

He says it's mostly old cpus. If I remember correctly that's where my dad bought us our first pc. It was an old clunker. I'm interested in what this is going to turn out to be. Got the truck and car trailer ready for the haul. Can't wait.

Sounds like a good haul. Any chance you would be allowed to break down on site? I only ask because there's few things I hate in life more than having to handle scrap multiple times.

If you have to haul them very far you might try to find someone with a semi truck to bring it to you.

I only live 10 miles from the scrap. I can't break it down on location mainly because I wouldn't want to. It is out at a home in the Wabash river bottoms. MOSQUITO HEAVEN!

I've got a truck and 16' trailer and a buddy of mine offered to pick up a load for me on his way back from the scrap yard tomorrow with his truck and trailer. He said if I let him have a load he will bring me two and he will take one.

Here's some of what I've brought home. I've already broken down and taken some of the junk metal to the local scrap yard.

Aren't those the old Radio Shack computers? I have one sitting on my garage shelf. Yep, the TRS-80. Early 80's model

TRS-80 perhaps? I used one in college doing BASIC programming never wanted to work on computers after that. Could be collectible have seen them in museums.

    Model III
    TRS-80 Model III

In July 1980 Tandy released the Model III. The improvements of the Model III over the Model I included built-in lower case, a better keyboard, 1500-baud cassette interface, and a faster (2.03 MHz) Z-80 processor. With the introduction of the Model III, Model I production was discontinued as it did not comply with new FCC regulations as of 1 January 1981 regarding electromagnetic interference.[10][15][18] The Model I radiated so much interference that while playing games an AM radio placed next to the computer could be used to provide sounds.[19]
